Clean Eating Grocery List

These are things I keep on hand so I always have something available for lunch and dinner.

The real deal about bottled ranch dressing

Time and time again I am disgusted by how processed everything is that we have grown so accustomed to eating. The food industry has brain washed us in to thinking that buying the crap off the shelf is the easy most dollar friendly way to eat. This could not be farther from the truth and to make matters worse their products are so unhealthy they are contributing to the downfall of our health.

So the processed item I am critiquing tonight is bottled Ranch Dressing. To be more specific, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing. My kids and my family have grown up eating this bottled dressing. When I became more aware of what I was putting into my families mouth I began to read the ingredient list on everything. When flipping over the bottled dressing I was disgusted at the lengthy unnecessary ingredient list. It immediately sparked my interest in what their website had to say about their product. This is what they claim: they claim health, they claim organic, they claim natural ingredients. First of all Organic! Get serious! Most Organic labels on prepackaged, processed food is a smoke screen to increase sales. Do not waste your money buying organic canned or boxed food items. Organic doesn’t always mean healthy.

I am going to list the ingredients on bottled Ranch Dressing and then I am going to give you the recipe for super easy homemade ranch dressing.

Bottled Ranch Ingredient List: soybean oil, water, egg yolk, sugar, salt, cultured nonfat buttermilk, natural flavors (soy), spices, less than 1% of: dried garlic, dried onion, vinegar, phosphoric acid, xanthan gum, modified food starch, monosodium glutamate(msg), artificial flavors, disodium phosphate, sorbic acid and calcium disodium EDTA as preservatives, disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate.
