Quick Tip- Calzones

Hi all! I wanted to take a minute and share a great tip I learned a while back and wanted to share it with all of you. I have discovered the easiest way to make homemade calzones in the middle of the week.

Use pre-made frozen dinner rolls!! They are the perfect size for a personal calzone.

If you visit your local semi-healthy market (Fresh & Easy, Trader Joe’s, Von’s -Open Nature) you can find a pretty healthy option that does not have HFCS or partially hydrogenated oils. If you have the time, I always recommend using homemade dough (I have a recipe for super easy homemade pizza dough on this site, check Appetizers: Pizza, Pizza) but if time is an issue because of oh I don’t know, soccer practice for two kids, or girl scouts, or both go ahead and cut yourself some slack and use pre-made dough.
As my kids have gotten older and busier I spend most of my time finding short cuts to my tried and true healthy recipes. When I find one I will let you know!
