Green Tea Citrus Cooler

If you are like me a weekend of indulgences (even “real” food indulgences) can leave you feeling not so great. I stumbled upon a recipe a few months back for a fat cleanse beverage and I tweaked it to make it fit into the real food lifestyle. I am a strong advocate of avoiding cleanses or fasts to lose weight but I do believe that our bodies do need a rest once in awhile. This rest means a day of eating lots of fruits and vegetables, a few high fiber carbs, and drinking this yummy citrus tea. This tea can be served over ice or warm.

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts brewed green tea (8 cups)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1-2 limes, sliced (1-2 depending on your preference)
  • fresh mint leaves (5-8)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a large pitcher.
  2. Stir well with a wooden spoon and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
  3. Make sure to give the tea a good stir each time you serve.
